Do We Actually Play Primo Maggio Main Stage?

Yes! Yes! Yes! Here there is no getting to the festival and having to play in a tent miles away, or on a stage that makes you wonder if its part of the same festival.

How Do We Register?

On this page you’ll find the Booking Form.  Just fill it in and send it to us.

Can We Play A City We’re Not based In?

No. We request that acts register to play in the city where they’re  based and making their name. At great expense we’ve organised show in the advertised cities so we can showcase local talent that reflects the music from that particular city.

Can A Solo Act Enter?

No, and If you play exclusively with a backing track that wouldn’t meet our entry criteria.  If you’re a solo act but perform with a live backing band or your live set includes at least 40% of traditional instruments,  then your good to go.

Can Cover Bands Apply?

No, this event is for original music only! You may insert a cover in your set but you must have at least 15/20mins of original songs in your set.

Is There An Age Limit?

Yes, due to the age restrictions of the venues all band members must be 18+

How Are The Acts Shortlisted?

Primo Maggio will review all entries to ensure entrants meet with the requirements of the festival and its audience. Once you’ve applied it should take no longer than 2/3 days for a response.

What Happens If We Are Nominated?

All UK nominated Acts will be featured and promoted on 1M Europe website and included into our media PR campaigns with promotion in both the UK and Italy. No, the act doesn’t need to sell a minimum amount of tickets or buy tickets from us in advance to participate in this event. However,  we will release the same amount of tickets/concessions to all the Acts performing live at a discounted price for their immediate fanbase. Any revenue generated from these sales the act will receive a share. It is advisable that the act has built-up a live profile to be able to draw 20 fans to the live shows.

Yes, the event  and bands will be listed and tickets available to purchase online.

Can We Run A Guestlist?

Yes, however tickets maybe more expensive than advance tickets.

Is A Backline Provided?

We will provide a 4-piece drum-kit and a bass cab and head for the Shortlisted Acts Showcase and a full backline for the Nominees final. All other instrumentation and drum breakables must be provided by the Act. Our technical managers will provide you with full details of the backline provided for each show.

Why Is There An Audience Vote?

Because the band will be performing live at Italy’s biggest festival and music TV Program, we need to be sure the act can do it live as i’m sure you’ll appreciate. The live shows gives us an idea of how a live  and online audience (streaming) reacts. The live footage helps 1M Europe to advertise the band and involve the media partners not only in Italy but across Europe. We’ve split the decision making 50/50 between the audience and the judges. And to prevent any act running away with the audience vote all acts will be given the same amount of tickets and ballot votes will only count if a second preference is ticked.

Who Are The Judges?

A full list of the judges will be available from and official website (under “Cast”) and will include: The Festival organisers (1M Europe, iCompany, 1MNext), 1M Media Partners (Samsung, Rai TV, Radio Capital, One More Lab),  Music Bloggers, UK media and press and other special guests. The full list will be communicated to the Nominated Acts performing at the national or European finals.
