Friday 1st May
O2 Academy2 Islington
Featuring… Lupa | Dark Science | The Dirty Truth | Sylva
Lupa is a Hertfordshire/North London based live electronic dance band with a predominant Drum ‘n’ Bass style loaded with infectious hooks and catchy melodies with a radio-friendly structure and concept. Fronted by Livvy M, a beautiful and spirited vocalist, backed by two metronome tight musicians Timothy Jack and Brad Travis, the band’s self-penned anthemic compositions combine epic soaring synths ranging from hands in the air euphoria to Drum ‘n’ Bass acid house madness. The name Lupa translates in Latin as ‘She Wolf’; a perfect fit for the band as they compare themselves to a female-fronted wolf pack working together to challenge and chase down the heavy sounds of the DJ ‘lions’ that currently dominate the Electronic Dance Music scene.

Ones To Watch ft The Taskers
Saturday 6th June
O2 Academy2 Birmingham
The Taskers - Press Release
A brother sister duo who write girthy rock tunes and funky acoustic ones. Trying very hard to be fun, unpretentious and exciting. The Taskers are staunchly DIY and have produced 5 albums to date through their own brand of stripped down, garage rock ethics. Check out ‘Taskersaurus’ on Youtube, for an extended look into the workings of the Midlands based two-piece. A deadly explosion of funk, surf and grunge, The Taskers are a brother/sister garage rock band from The Midlands.
They pride themselves on their do-it-yourself attitude and general bad-assery. Since 2012 they’ve released five albums, appeared on the BBC numerous times, played over 120 gigs, formed a lofi record label and increased their own fame by 46%. They are always on tour, always recording and always engaging in some form of asskicking coolness.

About The Event
The Metropolis Studio (Best Studio 2014) is where hits are created. To list all the credits and album recorded at this studio we would need 3 pages, but you can check out the achievements at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metropolis_Group
The Metropolis session nights are a networking event held against a backdrop of up-and-coming talent in the beautiful listed building and in front of the leading producers, recording labels and publishers in the UK.
Building on a solid reputation for supporting emerging talent, the Metropolis Sessions now have a distinct feel every time with name talent such as Elle Goulding, Paloma Faith, Florence & The Machine hosting their favourite up-and-coming artists.
Ian Brenchley (CEO of Metropolis Studios) said “What with all the talent we have coming through these doors, we have an embarrassment of riches at Metropolis Sessions. Historically, we’ve certainly helped some of the smaller acts get noticed, with more than a few getting signed after doing the Sessions.”
